Have a cocktail or two
Sunday, October 24th, 2010Holidays are quickly approaching and with all of the at home cocktail parties being planned I thought you might need a couple handy cocktail recipes to impress your friends with.
CUCUMBER ECLIPSE
chill martini glass
Grab a shaker and put 2 scoops of ice
Pour in shaker
1 1/2 oz of Hendricks gin
1/2 oz of St. Germaine Elderflower liqueur
1 oz of fresh cucumber juice(juice cucumber with the skin)
1/2 oz of fresh house sour
1/2 oz simple syrup
Set down shaker
Empty the chilled martini glass of the ice
Pour a 1/4 oz of All natural Fever Tree Ginger beer in the martini glass
Grab the shaker tin
STIR your Cocktail briskly yet taking care not to break or chip any ice
Strain the cocktail into the martini glass over top of the Ginger beer
Garnish with 1/8 oz of house made black raspberry tincture
The tincture creates a red eclipse on the top of the cocktail with about 30 sec of application
RAW SAZERAC (America’s oldest cocktail recipe)
Fill rocks glass entirely with ice and set aside
Grab shaker tin and pour
2 oz of sazerac rye whiskey
4 dashes of Peyschaud bitters
1/4 oz of house raw honey syrup from Middletown wildflower honey(as oppose to the traditional refined white sugar cube) hence the name raw sazerac
Set shaker aside
Grab rocks glass and stir ice in glass to further chill the entire glass then dump ice
Using an atomizer, spray lucid absinthe into the chilled rocks glass. Swirl glass and shake out any residual water from ice or absinthe
Grab shaker with cocktail
Put one scoop of ice inside
STIR your Cocktail briskly yet taking care not to break or chip any ice
Strain and pour into the chilled and absinthe spritzed rocks glass
Garnish with a fresh lemon peel that you’ve squeezed to release the oils.
